Job summary

Goodwill Northern New England in Rockland, ME seeks a Store Supervisor to oversee daily retail operations and lead store staff. You will support the Store Manager, supervise team members, manage donations, and ensure compliance with safety and agency standards.

The role emphasizes donor experience, operating accuracy, and inventory control, with opportunities for growth within a mission-driven organization.

Qualifications

• Criminal Background Check that meets the agency standards.
• A minimum of two (2) years previous retail experience.
• A minimum of one (1) year of supervisory experience, preferably in a retail setting.
• Ability to sit, stand, bend, reach, and lift.
• Ability to push/pull up to fifty (50) pounds.

Responsibilities

• Assist Store Manager with day-to-day operations.
• Assumes full responsibility for all store operations in the absence of the Store Manager.
• Receives donations, provides donation receipts, and assists donors to ensure a positive donor experience.
• Maintains positive relationships between departments through concise and consistent communication.
• Interviews/hired new store personnel; trains store personnel in store policies, job duties, and Agency policies and procedures.
• Maintains store premises to ensure adequate security, compliance with safety and environmental codes, and Agency health and safety standards.
• Performs operational duties as needed (register, donation area, production, merchandising, customer service).
• Analyzes store merchandising needs; ensures adequate inventory levels to meet projected sales and budget goals through achievement of production goals.
• Maintains store records including all cash, sales and deposit reports, expense reports, payroll sheets and other records required by the Agency or by applicable law.
• Closes registers, cashes out, totals and summarizes funds received, endorses checks, and prepares bank deposit slips; deposits funds at a bank.
• Assists Store Manager with general store operations; supervises/coordinates activities of store personnel; assigns duties and schedules break periods, work hours, and vacations.
• Ensures that store opening/closing procedures are followed; secures all store premises.
• Participates in performance management, including disciplinary actions, staff assignments, and writing year-end reviews.
