Primary Purpose

Manage Center Store and Front End operations to ensure associate supervision and engagement, and meet financial and sales goals. Responsible for the overall operation of the store in the absence of the Store Manager. Build strong associate and customer relations, and promote a culture aligned with Hannaford Strategy. Maintain effective communication with the management team and all store associates.

Responsibilities
  1. Manage Center Store and Front End operations.
  2. Promote excellent customer service and high standards in customer interactions.
  3. Hire and support the development of store associates.
  4. Manage performance through coaching, appraisals, and disciplinary actions.
  5. Provide training and recognize accomplishments.
  6. Address AR concerns and escalate as needed.
  7. Assist in achieving financial objectives including sales and margin targets.
  8. Utilize company tools like labor management and financial reporting systems.
  9. Ensure effective scheduling to meet operational needs.
  10. Maintain compliance with policies, legal requirements, and safety standards.
  11. Ensure proper control of store funds and assets.
  12. Maintain merchandising standards and resolve inventory shrink issues.
  13. Understand training guides and standard practices for all departments.
  14. Work flexible hours, including store closing shifts.
  15. Maintain confidentiality of store information.
  16. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  1. College degree or retail supervisory experience.
  2. Leadership and team management skills.
  3. Strong understanding of store operations and merchandising.
  4. Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
  5. Willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical skills.
  6. Ability to solve problems using technical information.
  7. Certified Food Safety Manager accreditation or willingness to obtain within 90 days.
Physical Requirements
  1. Proficiency with computers and communication systems.
  2. Frequent bending, kneeling, squatting, reaching, and lifting.
  3. Stand or walk for extended periods.
  4. Lift up to 20 lbs regularly, up to 60 lbs occasionally.
  5. Push/pull up to 40 lbs regularly and 75 lbs on occasion.
  6. Operate controls and handle various substances safely.
  7. Work in extreme temperatures for short periods.
  8. Sufficient visual acuity for reading documents.
Salary Range

$63,000 - $85,000 annually
