General Summary:

As an Assistant Store Manager at Family Dollar, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and assisting the Store Manager in daily store operations. This includes maintaining inventories, store appearance, and completing daily paperwork.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

• Greeting and assisting customers positively, answering questions, and resolving inquiries.
• Maintaining a clean, well-stocked store and providing excellent customer service.
• Supervising, training, and developing Store Associates under the Store Manager's guidance.
• Unloading merchandise, organizing stock, and transferring merchandise from the stockroom to the sales floor.
• Assisting in ordering merchandise, record keeping, payroll, scheduling, and cash handling.
• Supporting loss prevention efforts.
• Taking on management responsibilities in the absence of the Store Manager.
• Following all company policies and procedures.

Position Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to interpret operational directives.
• Retail management experience preferred.
• Physical ability to lift up to 40 lbs regularly, with occasional lifts up to 55 lbs, and perform physical activities like walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, and pulling.
• Availability for flexible, full-time schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Skills in customer service, developing potential, results orientation, organization, communication, problem-solving, and relationship management.
