General Summary:

As a Family Dollar Assistant Store Manager, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our customers and assisting the Store Manager in daily store operations. Responsibilities include maintaining inventories, store appearance, and completing daily paperwork.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

1. Greet and assist customers positively, answer questions, and resolve inquiries.
2. Maintain a clean, well-stocked store and provide excellent customer service.
3. Supervise, train, and develop Store Associates on operating practices and procedures.
4. Assist in unloading merchandise, organizing stock, and transferring items from stockroom to store.
5. Help in ordering merchandise, record keeping, payroll, scheduling, and cash handling.
6. Support loss prevention efforts.
7. Take on management responsibilities in the absence of the Store Manager.
8. Follow all company policies and procedures.

Position Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to interpret operational directives.
• Retail management experience preferred.
• Physical ability to lift up to 40 lbs regularly, with occasional lifting up to 55 lbs., and perform physical activities like walking, standing, stooping, etc.
• Flexible full-time schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Skills in customer focus, potential development, results orientation, organization, communication, problem-solving, and relationship management.
