Job description

The Assistant Store Manager will support the Store Manager in areas of sales, customer service, store appearance, and store operations. This position will manage the store during the Store Manager’s absence and/or when working opposing shifts. The Assistant Manager will lead store team members in servicing customers.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  1. Lead the store team in providing excellent customer service to retail and professional customers.
  2. Supervise customer service levels in the retail showroom, including execution of customer service programs (Related sales, Hi5, Rock the Call, Never Say No, Rock the Lot, etc.).
  3. Work with the store manager to ensure adequate staffing during peak hours.
  4. Assist in setting team member goals, providing feedback, coaching, mentoring, and ensuring ongoing training.
  5. Participate in hiring processes, including recruiting, interviewing, evaluating candidates, and collaborating on selection.
  6. Ensure telephone answering aligns with company policy.
  7. Process online orders, transfers, and special orders promptly, contacting customers as needed.
  8. Handle retail customer returns and exchanges efficiently and accurately.
  9. Ensure all merchandise, including warranties and core charges, are invoiced before leaving the store.
  10. Communicate Zipline messages and delegate merchandising tasks.
  11. Ensure team compliance with policies, schedules, and clocking procedures.
  12. Perform store opening/closing duties, including securing deposits, verifying security, and locking doors.
  13. Assist in maintaining store facilities and equipment.
  14. Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills, Education, Knowledge, Experience, Abilities
Required:
  • Sales Specialist Training, Assistant Manager Certification, and RSS Certification.
  • Certified Parts Professional Certification; ASE Certification.
  • Fluency in multiple languages, with Spanish highly desired.
