Job Summary

Assist the Store Manager and Managers in Training with recruiting, hiring, training, and managing staff to meet sales goals, control expenses, and protect assets.

Essential Job Functions

  1. Meet and exceed sales goals and performance standards.
  2. Assist in recruiting and hiring high-quality employees.
  3. Train and develop a successful sales team.
  4. Provide feedback, coaching, and enforce policies.
  5. Implement company initiatives effectively.
  6. Recognize and develop talented staff for growth.
  7. Manage daily store operations in the absence of the Store Manager or Manager in Training.
  8. Oversee loss prevention practices.
  9. Communicate store needs to leadership.
  10. Resolve customer issues effectively.
  11. Create a fun, full-service customer experience.
  12. Complete bank deposits.
  13. Demonstrate and embody the Journeys culture.

Job Requirements

  • Prior retail management experience preferred.
  • 6–12 months retail sales experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Desire to succeed in a fast-paced retail environment.
  • Willingness to learn.
  • Completion of training programs for Co-Manager role or equivalent.
  • Ability to work 45 hours per week, including nights and weekends.
  • Ability to climb, reach, bend, lift up to 50 pounds, and stand for long periods.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
