GENERAL PURPOSE:
Responsible for managing and supervising all areas assigned by the Store Manager, following policies regarding Customers, Associates, and merchandising. Responsible for learning all phases of Store operations. In the absence of the Store Manager, the Assistant Manager leads the entire store operation to ensure standards and best practices are met.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
General Operating Requirements:
- Leads all Company Best Practices, maximizing productivity by minimizing steps and touches.
- Assists in analyzing Store reports to evaluate expenses and performance.
- Communicates variances to standards to the Store Manager.
- Ensures proper Associate scheduling to meet business goals.
- Ensures compliance with all regulations.
- Schedules and completes all Associate cleaning tasks, including restrooms.
- Accepts special assignments from Leadership.
- Responsible for payroll administration and reporting.
Organizational Development:
- Assists in recruiting, hiring, training, and developing non-exempt Associates.
- Ensures compliance with personnel policies.
- Assists with Associate Relations issues, communicating incidents as needed.
Expense Control:
- Monitors expenditures to stay within budget.
- Controls payroll hours, adjusting to business trends.
Maintaining a Safe & Secure Environment:
- Practices safe behaviors; understands safety is the top priority.
- Ensures Associates understand emergency procedures.
- Maintains adherence to safety policies.
- Facilitates safety meetings.
Customer Service:
- Treats all with respect, demonstrating courtesy and professionalism.
- Recognizes Associates through programs.
- Implements customer service and merchandise presentation programs.
- Supervises and coaches Associates in providing friendly service.
Personal and Store Brand:
- Represents the Company brand at all times.
- Maintains professional appearance and adheres to dress code.
- Ensures a clean, organized store environment.
- Maintains high housekeeping standards.
Merchandise Processing and In-Store Marketing:
- Ensures timely processing of merchandise and markdowns.
- Organizes merchandise per guidelines.
- Manages merchandise flow to the sales floor.
Loss Prevention:
- Trains Associates on Loss Prevention and shortage goals.
- Demonstrates integrity, safeguards confidential info and merchandise.
- Maintains Loss Prevention awareness and systems.
- Leads inventory processes and policy adherence.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
- At least 2 years of Store or Assistant Store Manager experience in retail.
- Ability to supervise, motivate, and communicate positively.
- Handles multiple tasks, prioritizes, and follows through.
- Sets priorities and exercises independent judgment.
- High-quality Customer service skills.
- Fluency in English.
- Willingness to work evenings and weekends.
- Basic math skills.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ADA:
- Ability to use store equipment.
- Stand, walk, and move around the store up to 100% of the time.
- Regularly bend, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop.
- Occasionally push, pull, and lift over 25 lbs.
- Use janitorial and store equipment.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Direct supervision of all non-exempt Associates.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
The pay range is $18.50 - $21.51, dependent on experience and location. Benefits include insurance programs, discounts, 401K, Employee Assistance, and more. Full-time roles are eligible for additional benefits and bonuses.
