Mountain High Outfitters in Woodstock seeks an Assistant Store Manager to partner with the Store Manager, drive sales, and develop a high-performing team in a fast-paced outdoor retail environment. Responsibilities

  • Partner with the Store Manager to oversee daily store operations and ensure company standards are consistently executed.
  • Assume leadership responsibility during the Store Manager's absence, making sound decisions that support business objectives and guest satisfaction.
  • Recruit, interview, hire, onboard, and develop exceptional team members who align with Mountain High Outfitters' culture and values.
  • Create and maintain weekly schedules that support business needs while maximizing payroll efficiency and guest service.
  • Train, coach, and mentor Sales Associates through consistent feedback, accountability, and recognition.
  • Conduct performance coaching and assist with evaluations to foster continuous growth and development.
  • Promote a positive, energetic, and collaborative team culture where associates are empowered to deliver outstanding service.
  • Support achievement of sales goals, operational objectives, and key performance metrics.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, safety standards, and loss prevention initiatives.
  • Protect company assets through strong operational controls and inventory awareness.
  • Lead the sales floor through active coaching, motivation, and customer engagement.
  • Monitor sales performance and identify opportunities to improve results.
  • Encourage suggestive selling, outfitting, and premium customer service behaviors.

Position Overview

The Assistant Store Manager is a store-level leadership role responsible for partnering with the Store Manager to drive sales, develop team members, execute operational excellence, and deliver an unmatched guest experience.

This position plays a critical role in recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, training, coaching, scheduling, and leading a high-performing team while ensuring the store operates efficiently and meets company standards.

The Assistant Store Manager serves as the leader on duty in the Store Manager's absence and is expected to confidently lead daily operations, inspire the sales team, and maintain a guest-first culture.
