Job description

The Assistant Store Leader position is responsible for implementing workflow procedures based on direction from the Store Leader. Their duties include supervising employees during day-to-day tasks, providing customer support in escalated situations, and managing the overall workflow of their store. They will also be required to lead the daily operations of the store and retail team in the Store Leader's absence, and to otherwise assist the Store Leader as required.

The desired candidate will create a positive store culture by treating employees fairly and with respect. Additionally, they should be self-motivated, dependable, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining 100% customer focus and operational excellence.

Duties and responsibilities :

1. Ensure every customer receives outstanding service by providing a friendly environment (greeting and acknowledging customers), maintaining standards, product knowledge, and other components of excellent service.
2. Adhere to the execution of established Royal Farms rules, policies, procedures, and systems; report concerns to the Store Leader, District Leader, or Human Resources as applicable.
3. Work closely with the Store Leader to train new employees on safety procedures and the use of personal protective equipment. Conduct ongoing safety training.
4. Assist the Store Leader with recruiting, training, developing, and providing performance feedback to team members.
5. Monitor and analyze business processes and results to achieve Royal Farms' goals profitably.
6. Ensure proper execution of all marketing programs.
7. Establish positive community relationships.
8. Follow company policies for vendor check-ins.
9. Provide leadership that ensures a pleasant customer service experience.
10. Recognize and recommend employees for promotion based on adherence to standards.
11. Handle Employee Relations activities resolution-oriented.
12. Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and systems (people, safety, assets, cash, etc.).
13. Complete other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will:

1. Demonstrate strong leadership skills.
2. Have strong communication skills (written, verbal, interpersonal).
3. Possess supervisory and organizational skills.
4. Have at least 1 year of fast food/retail management experience.
5. Hold a high school diploma or GED.
6. Utilize basic business math, accounting, computer skills, and strong analytical and decision-making skills.
7. Food Safety Certification is preferred.

Requirements :

1. Be at least 18 years old.
2. Must be able to travel as required.
3. Be available to work all shifts, including weekends and holidays.
4. Able to lift, bend, and stand for up to eight hours per day.
5. Capable of lifting and carrying 50 lbs.
