General Summary:

As a Family Dollar Assistant Store Manager, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our customers. A key priority includes assisting the Store Manager in the daily operation of the store. You will also be responsible for maintaining inventories, store appearance, and completing daily paperwork.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

• Greet and assist customers in a positive, approachable manner. Answer questions and resolve inquiries and concerns.
• Maintain a presence in the store by providing excellent customer service.
• Ensure a clean, well-stocked store for customers.
• Assist in supervising, training, and developing Store Associates on Family Dollar operating practices and procedures.
• Assist in unloading merchandise from delivery trucks, organizing merchandise, and transferring merchandise from the stockroom to the store.
• Support Store Manager in ordering merchandise, record keeping, payroll, scheduling, and cash register deposits and receipts.
• Support loss prevention efforts.
• Take on management responsibilities in the absence of the Store Manager.
• Follow all company policies and procedures.

Position Requirements:

• Education: Prefer completion of high school or equivalent. Ability to interpret and explain operational directives.
• Experience: Prefer store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environments.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 40 lbs regularly, and up to 55 lbs occasionally. Must meet demands of walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting.
• Availability: Able to work flexible, full-time schedules including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Skills & Competencies: Customer focus, developing potential, results-driven, organizational skills, communication, problem-solving, job knowledge, and relationship management.
