Learn the operations of all departments and the duties of store management; share responsibility for store performance in all areas of operation/human resources. Perform scheduling, security, maintenance, safety, sanitation, ordering, administration, and Human Resources duties. Minimum requirements:

  • High school diploma/GED
  • At least 1 year of experience as a department or service manager, or equivalent
  • Approval from store or district manager

Desired qualifications:

  • Retail management experience and knowledge of store operations
  • Staff supervisory experience

Responsibilities include:

  • Assisting store manager and staff in delivering excellent customer service and developing interest in customer relations
  • Leading teams in planning and executing merchandising and operational initiatives
  • Developing action plans based on survey results and store opportunities
  • Modeling high customer service standards and resolving issues
  • Managing store operations in the manager's absence
  • Achieving sales, wage, profit, safety, and shrinkage targets
  • Driving sales and profits through departmental collaboration
  • Participating in financial performance discussions and budget development
  • Analyzing the competitive landscape and fostering inclusive leadership
  • Ensuring store departments meet sales and profit goals
  • Building relationships with community organizations and union representatives
  • Communicating effectively with staff and serving as a liaison with district management
  • Supporting staffing, retention, and performance management
  • Maintaining compliance with laws and policies
  • Supervising and coaching staff, providing performance feedback
