Job summary

You will partner with the Store Director to manage budgets, monitor sales and profits, supervise department leaders, and ensure compliance with safety, merchandising, and labor programs. Strong leadership and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field.
• Three years of experience in a retail grocery environment with increasing levels of responsibility.
• One year of experience in a supervisor or lead role, preferably in a retail environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organization, prioritization, decision-making, problem solving and conflict management skills.
• Strong leadership abilities with capability to work in a hands-on environment.
• Strong strategic planning and business acumen skills.
• Knowledge of retail store operations; knowledge of retail management systems.
• Proficient in Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Depending on location, ability to communicate in Spanish is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Store Director with overall retail store management including staffing, training, performance management and career development of associates, and developing and monitoring department goals.
• Develop and monitor department budget as required.
• Provide focused and effective leadership to store associates that develops a positive, high performing, customer focused store culture.
• Assist with the overall profit and loss financial performance of the store including budgeted sales, gross profit and controllable expenses.
• Maintain follow-up with sub department managers to ensure goals are achieved.
• Assist sub department managers with interpreting data and creating plans to achieve department goals.
• Coordinate store activities to ensure successful operations and compliance (safety, HR, merchandising, loss prevention, etc.).
• Oversee Merchandising and Inventory programs and partner with corporate as needed.
• Implement and maintain work schedules, labor control and store payroll expense control programs.
• Implement service programs to achieve a customer-oriented store.
