Job summary

Utah Tech University in southwestern Utah seeks an Assistant Director to support the STEM Center's strategic growth and daily operations, including program development, staff supervision, partnerships, grants, budgets, and delivering high-quality STEM experiences for K–12 students and educators.

The role serves on the leadership team, works across campus and with community partners, mentors staff, manages resources, and ensures compliance with university policies while advancing workforce

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a STEM-related field from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of three (3) years of experience working with K–12 youth in educational or outreach settings.
• Ability to develop positive relationships with students, educators, and partners.
• Strong organizational, communication, and project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and oversee STEM programs, camps, classes, competitions, and outreach events.
• Supervise AmeriCorps members, student employees, interns, and volunteers; support staff onboarding and development.
• Foster partnerships with K–12 schools, higher education, industry, and community groups.
• Assist with grants, budgeting, reporting, and compliance; identify funding opportunities.
• Manage daily STEM Center operations, facilities, inventory, and safety.
• Support marketing, communications, and recruitment for programs.
• Collect data, analyze outcomes, and report impact to stakeholders.
• Contribute to strategic planning and leadership coverage in the Director's absence.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
