Job summary

R&W Electric Co. is seeking an accounting assistant with a two-year associate degree and solid math skills to join our Mississippi team.

The ideal candidate will have at least two years of documented experience in payroll or payables/receivables and demonstrate proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Preference will be given to applicants who have supervisory experience, pursuing a 4-year accounting degree, and familiarity with Viewpoint Construction and Accounting Software.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in accounting with 3.0+ GPA across accounting courses.
• Minimum 2 years of documented experience in payroll, accounts payable/receivable.
• Supervisory experience with at least 3 employees preferred.
• Enrolled in or pursuing a 4-year BS in accounting at an accredited college/university.
• Experience with Viewpoint software is advantageous.

Job description

– Minimum of a two-year Associates Degree in accounting from a Community College and/or Accredited University. Must exhibit strong math skills and 3.0 or better grades in all accounting courses taken.

– Must have a minimum 2 years of documentable experience working in a department in one of the following disciplines:

– Payroll

– Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable

– Preference will be given to those who can document any of the following:

– Supervisory experience where applicant can demonstrate a minimum of one continuous year (or more) of documentable experience in managing at least three other employees

– Currently enrolled in and/or have been enrolled in additional college courses in the pursuit of a 4-year Bachelor of Science accounting degree from an accredited 4-year College or University.

– Specialty seminars or previous work training that is directly relatable and would serve as an upgrade to the skills of the employee past the minimum requirements.

– Must be able to demonstrate strong skills in all of the following areas:

– Microsoft EXCEL

– Microsoft Word

– Microsoft Power Point

– Hiring preference will be given to those with a documentable knowledge and experience with VIEWPOINT Construction and Accounting Software. Depending on the number of years of documentable experience with Viewpoint, College and work experience may be waived for documented experience with Viewpoint software.
