Job summary

Johnsburg High School is seeking an Assistant Softball Coach to support the girls' softball program. The role involves assisting in competition levels, organizing summer camps, and monitoring student academic progress under the direction of the head coach.

The candidate will help assign positions, organize practices, and ensure adherence to team rules and safety procedures, while serving as a positive role model for athletes.

Qualifications

• Illinois Teaching Certificate/Substitute Certificate, ASEP certificate or NFHS coaching certification program required.
• AED/CPR certification current and IHSA coaching certification annual requirements must be met.
• Strong organizational and communication skills required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with maintaining levels of competition for the girls' softball program.
• Coordinate summer camps for current and prospective players.
• Monitor athletes' academic progress with head coach.
• Assess players' skills and assign positions on the team.
• Help organize practice schedules under the head coach.
• Organize individual practices for development.
• Follow team rules and goals shared with players and parents.
• Follow procedures in case of injury and ensure supervision of athletes.
• Serve as a positive role model with good sportsmanship.
• Maintain inventory of equipment.
• Attend professional development clinics for girls softball.
