Assistant Softball Coach - BHS - 2025-2026

Salary Schedule: Per Approved Extra-Duty Salary Schedule.

Purpose

The Assistant Coach assists with designing and implementing activities programs from 7th grade through varsity, supervises student athletes, uses sound instructional techniques, serves as a positive role model, and liaises with other schools, the community, and organizations. This position is assigned to a specific sport.

Essential Job Functions

• Attend work reliably and punctually.
• Analyze opposition strategies for game planning.
• Assess student athletes and provide performance feedback.
• Assist in developing off-season programs to improve skills.
• Participate in meetings, workshops, and community events.
• Collaborate with coaching staff on program development.
• Communicate needs and recommendations to the Head Coach.
• Develop game strategies and practice regimens.
• Evaluate facilities for hazards and equipment needs.
• Instruct student athletes to promote growth and sportsmanship.
• Maintain records for compliance and organization.
• Supervise managers and volunteers.
• Promote the athletic program in the community.
• Respond to inquiries from students, parents, and staff.
• Supervise athletes during all participation activities.
• Monitor academic eligibility and provide interventions if needed.
• Assist in fundraising and budgeting.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
