Purpose: The Assistant Coach assists in designing and implementing activities programs from 7th grade through varsity, providing supervision, using sound instructional techniques, serving as a positive role model, and liaising with schools, community, and organizations. This position is assigned to a specific sport.

Essential Job Functions

• Attend work reliably and punctually.
• Analyze opposition strategies to develop game plans.
• Assess student athletes' performance and team placement.
• Assist in developing off-season programs to improve skills.
• Attend meetings, workshops, and events to gather and share information.
• Support activities like parent orientations and recognition events.
• Collaborate with coaching staff on instructional techniques and organization.
• Communicate needs and recommendations to the Head Coach.
• Develop game strategies and practice regimens to enhance performance.
• Evaluate facilities for hazards and recommend improvements.
• Instruct athletes on skills, rules, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
• Maintain records for compliance and organization.
• Oversee student managers and volunteers.
• Promote the athletic program through clinics and community engagement.
• Respond to inquiries from students, parents, and staff.
• Supervise athletes during all participation activities.
• Work with the Head Coach on academic eligibility and intervention.
• Assist in fundraising and budgeting efforts.
• Perform other duties to ensure effective operation of the program.
