Job summary

Empire High School in Tucson, Arizona, seeks an Assistant Softball Coach to support the Head Coach in developing a competitive, positive, educational program for student-athletes.

Responsibilities include planning practices, instructing fundamentals, promoting sportsmanship and academics, ensuring compliance with AIA rules, and representing the school in all competitions during the Feb 2027–Apr 2027 season.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of softball fundamentals, rules, and strategies.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain.
• NFHS Coaching Certificates - fundamentals of coaching and concussion.
• Must pass a background check as required by the school district.

Job Description: Empire High School is seeking an Assistant Softball Coach to support the Head Coach in developing and managing a competitive, positive, and educational high school softball program. This role focuses on skill development, sportsmanship, teamwork, and student-athlete growth both on and off the field.

• Preferred:
  • Prior coaching experience at the high school, club, or collegiate level.
  • Previous experience as an assistant coach.
  • Knowledge of strength and conditioning principles.
  • Experience with student-athlete development programs.
