Job summary

Empire High School in Tucson, AZ is seeking a Head JV Softball Coach for the Feb 2027–Apr 2027 season. The role focuses on skill development, teamwork, and student-athlete growth both on and off the field.

Responsibilities include assisting with practices, instructing players in fundamentals and strategy, and promoting academic achievement while upholding AIA rules and school policies.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of softball fundamentals, rules and strategies.
• Excellent leadership, communication and organizational abilities.
• Ability to foster a positive and inclusive team environment.
• CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain it.
• NFHS Coaching Certificates — fundamentals and concussion awareness.
• Must pass a background check as required by the school district.

Job Description: Empire High School is seeking a Head JV Softball Coach to support the program in developing and managing a competitive, positive, and educational high school softball program. This role focuses on skill development, sportsmanship, teamwork, and student‑athlete growth both on and off the field.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the Head Coach with planning and conducting practices and games


• Provide individual and group instruction in softball fundamentals, rules, and course strategy


• Develop and implement effective training programs to enhance player performance and team success.


• Provide leadership and mentorship to student‑athletes, emphasizing sportsmanship, discipline, and teamwork.


• Promote academic achievement and ensure players adhere to eligibility requirements.


• Represent Empire High School with professionalism in the community and in interscholastic competitions.


• Ensure compliance with Arizona Interscholastic Association (AIA) rules and school policies.
