Job summary

RE-1 Valley Schools Sterling is seeking an Assistant Boys Soccer Coach to support the season. The role is an extra-duty, part-time position with stipends paid at season end and a salary schedule reference.

Responsibilities include coordinating all team levels, preparing teams for competition, teaching skills, and ensuring district policies and safety rules are followed. Travel to away games is required.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Complete and submit an RE-1 Valley Schools online application.
• Willing and able to drive to away games, camps, scrimmages.
• Knowledgeable in the techniques and strategies for the sport/activity.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and manuals.
• Ability to follow directions from athletic director.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, staff and community.

Responsibilities

• Assist with coordination of all levels of teams.
• Develop expectations and direction of the soccer program.
• Prepare teams for competition.
• Teach fundamental and advanced skills.
• Follow district regulations and policies.
• Act under the direction of the head coach.
• Coach participants individually and in groups to improve performance.
• Plan and direct a regular in-season practice program.
• Maintain rules knowledge and sportsmanship.
• Coordinate freshman participation at events and practices.
• Supervise student athletes during travel.
• Ensure safety conditions for students and facilities at all times.
