Job summary

Tyrol Basin is seeking an Assistant Snow Sports Director who can help train, schedule, and oversee Snow School staff. The role supports the Snow Sports Director in planning operations and events, with responsibilities spanning check-in, lesson coordination, and customer service.

This is a part-time seasonal position from mid-November through late winter, with typical hours 25–40 per week. Snow Sports staff may also have opportunities for advancement and seasonal perks such as passes and employee

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Help train, schedule, and manage Snow School staff, including instructors and desk staff.
  • Handle daily lesson check-in and provide excellent customer service to clients.
  • Assist with payment, rental forms, equipment fitting, and instructor meeting locations.
  • Oversee instructor and client schedules and answer phones/emails.
  • Support planning of events and lesson programs with the Snow Sports Director.
  • Occasionally work as an instructor or ticket/rental helper as needed.

Assistant Snow Sports Director Job Description (Job Posting)

Tyrol Basin is looking for a hardworking, snow-loving person who enjoys working with all ages, to join our team this upcoming winter season as our Assistant Snow Sports Director!

This person is responsible for assisting the Snow Sports Director in the planning, organization, and overseeing of operations, activities, and staff within the Snow School. The ideal candidate will have some management, coaching, or leadership experience as well as the ability to either ski or snowboard (but this is not required, as we can teach you. After all, we are Instructors!). This position requires good organization, time-management, and the ability to work in fast-paced, and sometimes high-stress situations. This candidate will have excellent customer service with the ability to maintain composure and always uphold values and policies set out by Tyrol Basin Ownership and Management. This position is primarily performed in an indoor office setting but does sometimes require one to be outdoors in the elements. This candidate will work closely with, and share an office, with the Snow School Director, who handles most of the on-snow duties.

Responsibilities
  • Help with the training, scheduling, and management of all staff within the Snow School, including Ski & Snowboard Instructors and Desk Staff
  • Performs daily lesson check-in while providing excellent customer service to lesson clients, welcoming them into the world of skiing and snowboarding
  • Assisting clients with the lesson check-in process: payment, filling out rental forms, putting on ski/snowboard equipment, and finding their instructor meeting location
  • Oversees daily Ski & Snowboard Instructor schedule as well as client schedule
  • Answers phones and emails; checks and responds to Snow School voicemail and email
  • Answering lesson questions and offering lesson advice
  • Occasionally helping clients through the online lesson-booking process
  • Works with and assists the Snow Sports Director in the planning of special events and lesson programs going on within the Snow School
  • Helps the Snow Sports Director in the daily assigning/pairing of lesson clients to instructor classes
  • Occasionally works as a Ski & Snowboard Instructor (if possessing that ability)
  • Occasionally works as a Ticket Seller and helps with ticket/rental sales as needed

Qualifications
  • The ability to ski or snowboard (preferred, but not required)

  • This position runs from mid-November through the end of winter season (usually end of March to early April.) Our Ski School hours of operation vary based on weather, time-of-year, special events, lesson programs, etc. but are usually 11am-7pm Monday-Friday and 9am-5pm Saturday and Sunday. This is a part-time seasonal position as applicants can expect to work between 25-40 hours per week.
