Job summary

Palisades Tahoe is seeking seasonal staff to support the Snowsports School. The role involves supervising a team of instructors, coordinating classes, and ensuring safety and quality in all lessons.

Ideal candidates will have PSIA/AASI level 1 certification (level 3 preferred), a HS diploma or GED, and relevant experience. Benefits include skiing privileges and employee discounts.

• Two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• PSIA/AASI level 1 certification or equivalent
• Bachelor's Degree preferred
• PSIA/AASI level 3 certification preferred
• One year of supervisory experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Assist manager in supervising a team of 15-30 employees; interviewing, hiring, training, and directing work.
• Supervise daily operations including guest check-in, class assignments, and data entry.
• Ensure payroll and employment processes comply with laws and company policies.
• Enforce safety standards per company procedures.
• Coordinate programs in the Adult School and ski school marketing initiatives.
• Maintain records for ski and snowboard programs; lead instructor training.
• Perform or assist others in performing duties; teach group and private lessons.

Hourly:

The base hourly pay range below represents the low and high end of the Palisades Tahoe Resort, LLC's hourly pay range for this position. Actual pay will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to experience, education, training, location, merit system, quantity or quality of production, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel. The range listed is just one component of Palisades Tahoe Resort, LLC's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term and long-term incentives and many region-specific benefits.

Base hourly pay range: $24 - $35.99 per hour

Essential Job Responsibilities/Duties/Tasks

include the following; other duties may be assigned:

• Assist manager in supervising a team of 15-30 employees. Assist in supervisory responsibilities such as interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
• Supervise the daily operation, including but not limited to; guest check-in, class assignments, getting classes out in a timely manner, checking on classes and assisting instructors on hill, entering class data in Flaik, facility upkeep and cleanliness.
• Comply with Federal and California Labor law in all phases of the payroll and employment process; from hiring through termination, as well as all Company policies & procedures.
• Enforce safety standards in accordance with company policies and procedures.
• Assists with coordination of the different programs in the Adult School.
• Carries out daily procedures to aid in effective personnel and financial management of the Snowsports School.
• Assists in various marketing promotional programs to promote Snowsports School programs.
• Records and maintains files for various Ski and Snowboard School programs.
• Actively leads the quality and direction of Instructor Training.
• Performs or assists subordinates in performing duties.
• Teaches group and private lessons.

Competencies and Job Requirements

Required:

• Able to communicate effectively in writing and verbally across all levels of the organization.
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks.
• Able to establish and maintain effective working relationships and interact with others
• Working knowledge of computers including MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Access)
• Advanced skiing and/or snowboarding skills, teaching skills, and PSIA/AASI certifications.
• Working knowledge of PSIA/AASI teaching principles and techniques.
• Ability to lead and direct employees and serve customers under intense conditions.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, talk, see, hear, and ski. Must be capable of walking, standing and skiing 90% or more of a normal 8 hour work shift. Must be capable of occasionally carrying, lifting. pushing or pulling up to 50lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perceptions and the ability to adjust focus.

Working Conditions

Indoor/Outdoor

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will continuously be exposed to outside weather conditions. The employee will frequently be exposed to extreme cold, wetness and/or humidity, and occasionally blizzards and extreme storm conditions.

The noise level in the work place is usually moderate.
