Job summary

The YMCA of San Diego invites applications for the Assistant Site Supervisor – Expanded Learning Programs (ELP). Under supervision, you will support the Site Supervisor in planning, supervising youth, and delivering academic enrichment aligned with grant goals.

You will help manage attendance, mentor Youth Leader staff, recruit participants, and collaborate with schools to maintain safe, engaging programs, while ensuring space remains organized and welcoming.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older and possess a high school diploma/GED.
• One year experience in child and youth development, education, or comparable setting required.
• Visual and auditory ability to respond to incidents and the physical ability to act in an emergency situation.
• Ability to lead activities such as sports, games, and academic assistance.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the planning, management, and implementation of program activities in accordance with goals and policies.
• Supervise program participants, ensuring their guidance and safety at all times.
• Provide positive behavior guidance supporting developmental, social-emotional, and physical needs.
• Serve as lead staff of the expanded learning program in the absence of the Site Supervisor.
• Actively recruit students and market expanded learning activities.
• Collaborate with school and district personnel to align high quality academic activities.
• Assist with on-site management of attendance data and program documents.
