Job summary

Pride One Construction in Kalamazoo, MI is seeking an Assistant Site Superintendent to support the Site Superintendent and Project Manager across commercial projects from pre-construction to closeout. The role includes coordinating submittals, RFIs, meeting minutes, and safety initiatives, with travel up to 30% locally.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of construction field supervision; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Must be able to travel locally/in market up to 30% of the time; out of market assignments are negotiated.
• Proficient in personal computer skills including email, record keeping, Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project.
• Ability to interact clearly and effectively, in both written and oral communication with customers, vendors, management, and coworkers.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Site Superintendent and Project Manager with daily construction site operations and project coordination.
• Coordinate and tracks project documentation, including submittals, RFIs, drawing revisions, meeting minutes, and as‑built drawings.
• Attend project meetings, including Owner-Architect-Contractor (OAC), subcontractor coordination, and project planning meetings, and distributes meeting minutes as required.
• Assist with project safety initiatives, including safety orientations, training, documentation, inspections, and weekly safety meetings.
• Maintain daily project records, including subcontractor activities, manpower, weather conditions, deliveries, and site progress.
• Assist in coordinating subcontractors, suppliers, and material deliveries to support project schedules and workflow.
• Monitor construction progress, quality, and schedule performance and communicates updates, concerns, and potential delays to the Site Superintendent and Project Manager.
• Participate in jobsite walks, inspections, and quality control reviews to verify compliance with project requirements.
• Assist with schedule updates and planning of weekly construction activities.
• Identify potential field issues, scope changes, and change order opportunities and communicate them to project leadership.
• Assist with punch list development, tracking, and completion to support project closeout.
• Compile turnover documentation and assists with project closeout activities, including inspections, certifications, and Certificates of Occupancy.
• Assist with subcontractor scope reviews, procurement activities, invoice reviews, and other project administration functions.
• Maintain organized and accurate project records and documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
