Job summary

Flow Control Group in Springfield, MA is seeking a motivated technician to assist shop and field teams with teardown, inspections, assembly, and equipment maintenance. You will learn coating applications, use precision measurement tools, and support safety programs while helping ensure timely service of pumps and related equipment across industries.

Qualifications

  • Willingness to learn and be a team player.
  • Ability to operate a forklift.
  • Driver's license, DOT card a plus.
  • Strong work ethic with ability to work under minimal supervision.
  • Verbal and written communication skills with engineering, technical support, sales and management.
  • Organizational skills and attention to detail; LOTO, DOT regulations, confined space, basic welding & NEMA are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Completes initial inspection and required paperwork for all items to be repaired or serviced.
  • Assist Shop Technicians with teardown and inspections of equipment.
  • Assist Shop Management with incoming receiving of customers' equipment and document incoming condition(s).
  • Assist with sandblasting responsibilities.
  • Help maintain shop housekeeping.
  • Make safety recommendations and assist with monthly safety inspections.
  • Assist with identification, troubleshooting, and resolution of equipment issues using precision instruments.
  • Learn and master coating applications, paint, epoxy, and other coatings.
  • Assemble equipment per manufacturer specifications with acceptable tolerances.
  • Assist with pump removal/install, shaft alignment, vibration analysis, lubrication tasks, and related duties.
  • Maintain required paperwork and time sheets; assist Management with OSHA compliance.

Responsibilities & Qualifications
Responsibilities
  • Completes initial inspection and required paperwork for all items to be repaired or serviced.
  • Assist Shop Technicians with teardown and inspections of equipment.
  • Assist Shop Management with the incoming receiving of customers' equipment and document incoming condition(s). Assist with sandblasting responsibilities.
  • Help maintain shop housekeeping.
  • Make safety recommendations, assist with monthly safety inspections.
  • Help senior technicians identify, troubleshoot, and resolve issues with equipment, devices, or products; use precision instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges to make measurements.
  • Learn and master coating applications, paint, epoxy, and other coatings.
  • Assembles equipment per manufacturer specifications, verifying acceptable tolerances are achieved.
  • Assists Field and Shop Technician with tasks related to current equipment, including pump removal, pump install, shaft alignment, vibration analysis, lube maintenance, and others.
  • Maintains and completes required paperwork and time sheet.
  • Assist Management with compliance with OSHA regulations Cleans up shop and performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Willingness to learn and be a team player.
