McLane Company, Inc. in Frankfort, KY is seeking a Shipping and Receiving Assistant to help manage the flow of shipments.

You’ll work the 3rd shift overnight, ensuring timely receipt, labeling, and coordination with buyers, vendors, and carriers. This position offers $18.50 per hour with a full-time schedule and benefits after 60 days, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, FSA/HSA, life coverage, and more, plus vacation, sick leave, holidays after 90 days, and a 401(k) profit-sharing

Qualifications

• Experience with Microsoft Office systems.
• Read, write and understand English to perform tasks safely.
• 2+ years work experience in distribution preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain schedule of incoming & outgoing shipments.
• Receive purchase orders, print pallet tags, and coordinate with buyers, vendors, and carriers.
• Communicate receipts of all products to leaders in a timely manner.
• Notify on call, no shows, and rescheduled shipments; communicate early received shipments.
• Inspect shipments for damages and verify per order requirements.
• Contact manager if a mistake is identified.
• Label shipments prior to loading.
• Other duties may be assigned.

• Pay rate: $18.50 per hour.
• Schedule: Monday (2:00 am to 7:30 am) Tuesday through Friday (12:00 am to 8:30 am)

What you’ll do as a Shipping and Receiving Assistant:

• Maintain schedule of incoming & outgoing shipments.
• Receive purchase orders, print pallet tags, and work closely with buyers, vendors, and carriers as well as receiving teammates to ensure that the proper purchase orders are received according to the schedule.
• Communicate receipts of all products timely to appropriate leaders.
• Also communicate no call, no shows, and rescheduled shipments. Ensure that shipments received in advance are also communicated timely.
• Inspect shipments to ensure they are no damages.
• Verify shipments per order requirements.
• Contact manager if a mistake is identified.
• Label shipments prior to loading.
• Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications You’ll Bring As a Warehouse Teammate

• High School Diploma or GED preferred. 2 or more years work experience, preferably in the distribution industry.
• Experience with Microsoft Office systems.
• This position requires the ability to read, write, and understand English at a level sufficient to perform job-related tasks effectively and safely. This includes understanding work instructions, safety protocols, and communications essential to the role. The requirement is directly related to the nature of the job and ensures compliance with workplace safety and operational standards.
