Job summary

Infra Pipes is seeking an Assistant Shift Supervisor to support the Foreman in overseeing production processes, inputs/outputs, equipment, and procedures on the floor, while ensuring safety and quality standards. You will train staff on SOPs, manage shift schedules and line changeovers, collaborate with other departments, and help maintain accurate production records.

The role also involves ensuring safety and quality standards are maintained while working effectively with all facility departments.

Key Responsibilities

• Learn and understand pipe product sizes, types, and specifications.
• Gain knowledge of assigned production equipment operation.
• Read and interpret product drawings and specifications.
• Complete and ensure accuracy of production records, reports, and paperwork.
• Maintain knowledge of quality standards and correct poor quality issues as needed.
• Perform and understand tasks assigned to subordinate employees.

Supervisory Responsibilities

• Assist with the supervision of 3–10 employees.
• Support production and safety training for all employees on the shift.
• Assist in monitoring production line schedules and changeovers.

• Strong reasoning ability: able to solve problems, adapt to variable situations, and interpret instructions in written, verbal, diagram, or schedule form.
• Strong numeracy: able to calculate figures such as percentages, production rates, and work with measurements.
• Ability to train and support subordinates while ensuring adherence to company standards.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

• Regularly required to use hands and fingers; able to talk and hear.
• Frequently required to walk, stand, stoop, kneel, crawl, and crouch; occasionally required to sit.
• Frequently lift up to 50 lbs; occasionally lift or move up to 70 lbs (assistance required above 50 lbs).
• Vision requirements: close vision, distance vision, and focus adjustment.
• Must be able to verbally communicate and understand verbal/written communication face-to-face or by telephone.
