Job summary

The Uftring Auto Group in Peoria, IL is seeking an Assistant Service Manager to support the Service Manager in leading the department and ensuring top-tier customer satisfaction. You will oversee scheduling, parts management, and technician performance while guiding a team of service staff.

Pay is based on experience and is expected to be between $85,000 to $95,000 per year. The group prides itself on awards, stability, internal advancement, and a FAST, thorough hiring process.

Qualifications

• Leadership experience in a dealership setting.
• Dealership Service Advisor experience is required.
• Two years of experience in an auto repair facility.
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information.
• Technical knowledge is a plus.
• College degree and factory training credentials are preferred.
• Excellent communication, supervisory, and managerial skills.
• Team player with honesty and integrity.
• Valid IL driver's license with acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Forecast goals and objectives for the department.
• Prepare and administer an annual operating budget for the department.
• Direct and schedule the activities of all department employees.
• Assist in hiring, training, motivating, counseling, and monitoring performance.
• Develop and maintain relationships with manufacturers.
• Review and revise customer repair orders and inspect repair quality.
• Understand and comply with federal, state, and local regulations affecting service operations.
• Spend time as an Advisor to assist during vacations and rushes.

The Assistant Service Manager assists the Service Manager in overseeing the service department, ensuring customer satisfaction, and optimizing operations, including scheduling, parts management, and technician performance.

PAY IS BASED ON EXPERIENCE AND IS EXPECTED TO BE BETWEEN $85,000 to $95,000/YR.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Forecast goals and objectives for the department.
• Prepare and administer an annual operating budget for the department.
• Direct and schedule the activities of all department employees.
• Assist in hiring, training, motivating, counseling, and monitoring the performance of all service staff.

• Ability to review and revise customer repair orders and inspect the quality of technician repairs.
• Understand and comply with federal, state, and local regulations that affect the service operations.
• Regularly spend time functioning as an Advisor to assist when vacations occur and assist with morning and afternoon rushes.

QUALITIES FOR SUCCESS:

• Previous leadership experience.
• Dealership Service Advisor experience is required
• Two years of experience in an auto repair facility.
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information.
• Technical knowledge is a plus.
• College degree and factory training credentials are preferred.
• Must have excellent communication, supervisory, and managerial skill.
• Must be a team player with impeccable honesty and integrity.
• Must possess a valid IL driver’s license with an acceptable driving record

SCHEDULE:

• Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. until 5:30 p.m.
• Saturday from 8:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

• The compensation for an Assistant Service Manager starts between $85,000 to $95,000 per year.
