This team of "red coats" help maintain order and security. Candidates with a law enforcement background are highly encouraged to apply. This role offers flexible, part-time scheduling consisting of four-hour shifts. Depending on the schedule, morning shifts will primarily encompass the legislative session, while afternoon shifts will cover committee hearings.Salary range: $19.227/hour ($39,992/year) up to $21.628/hour ($44,986/year)Job duties and responsibilities:Regulates access to the legislative chamberMonitors hearing rooms during legislative sessionsSecures the legislative membership when the house is under callTransmits messages to and from senators in the legislative chamberProvides direction and information to the public in the rotundaOther duties as assignedRequirements/Qualifications:Minimum Qualifications:Knowledge of the legislative processAbility to interact with senators, legislative staff, and the public in a tactful and firm mannerAbility to maintain confidentialityAbility to maintain a flexible work schedule including working nights and weekendsPhysical Requirements:Prolonged periods of remaining in a stationary position requiredMust be able to move objects of up to 50 pounds without assistanceIf you're currently employed by the State of Nebraska, please don't apply through this external career site.
