Job summary

Whitsons Culinary Group is seeking a School Lunch Supervisor to support daily operations across multiple school kitchens and help deliver nutritious meals to students. You’ll lead kitchen teams, manage scheduling, inventory, and safety programs while ensuring compliance with USDA standards.

The role focuses on hands-on leadership, budget awareness, and staff development, with opportunities for growth within a mission-driven school nutrition program.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of food service management experience, preferably in a K–12 or institutional setting.
• Culinary background with working knowledge of recipes, production, and portion control.
• Strong communication, leadership, and time management skills.
• Knowledge of USDA meal programs and local health department guidelines.
• Ability to multi-task, think critically, and solve problems on the go.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and email communication.
• ServSafe certification required (or ability to obtain).
• Spanish speaking a plus.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations across multiple school kitchens.
• Lead a team that prepares and serves nutritious meals to students.
• Assist with scheduling, inventory, food safety, and USDA program compliance.
• Serve as a key contact for school staff and clients when GM is absent.
• Train, mentor, and support team members to promote a positive kitchen culture.
• Monitor budget goals, help manage costs, and use commodities efficiently.
• Assist with audits and inspections to ensure readiness for review.
• Spend about 80% of time on-site supporting teams.
