Job summary

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license required.
• High school diploma required.
• Must pass a written test specific to job requirements prior to employment.
• Commercial vehicle maintenance work experience or training preferred.
• Meets all health requirements for employment.
• Documentation of a clear criminal record required.
• Complies with drug-free workplace rules and board policies.
• Meets all bus driver qualifications (CDL with school bus endorsement) or will obtain CDL with endorsement within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Assist in managing the district's ongoing vehicle maintenance program.
• Uphold board policies and procedures and promote a positive image of the district.
• Support partnerships that enhance district programs and services.
• Learn operating and maintenance procedures for all district vehicles.
• Ensure safety and environmental compliance.
• Inspect, service, repair and test vehicles for safety.
• Report issues to Head Bus Mechanic and Supervisor of Transportation.
• Respond to service emergencies and drive school routes as needed.
• Pickup and deliver buses to be serviced.
