Job summary

Children's Cottage of Wilmington is seeking an Assistant Teacher to support our School Age classroom. The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma and be able to pass background checks, with prior childcare experience a plus.

This full-time role offers a Monday–Friday 8:30am–5:30pm shift, competitive pay ($14-17/hr based on education and experience), and a benefits package including dental, medical, and vision insurance, 401k with match, and paid training.

• Establish professional rapport with families to provide quality care.
• Meet physical requirements and lift up to 40 lbs.

Required Shift:

Compensation:

$14-17/hr, based on education and experience

MainJob Responsibilities:

• Assist the lead teacher with all aspects of the classroomin a manner consistent with the philosophy and goals of the center.
• Implement activities that encourage each child’s growth in the areas of emotion, social, cognitive, creative,and physical development.
• Take direction, accept constructive criticism,and feedback, and make improvements and changes as necessary for the betterment of the quality of the program.
• Createand maintain an environment that is clean and safe for all children.
• Establishing a professional level of rapport with each family to provide quality care for the children.
• Physical ability to work around small children including sitting, standing, walking, running,and climbing stairs.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs. and fulfill all physical requirements of the role.
