Job Description
The Assistant Sales Manager role focuses on ensuring that company sales goals are met or exceeded, including achieving all key business metrics, while following California Closets policies and procedures. This role ensures that designers deliver California Closets' standards of excellence with each customer. The Assistant Sales Manager also collaborates with the Operations team to ensure process flow is followed, resulting in high standards of customer service at all touchpoints.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Coach and mentor an assigned team of Design Consultants to meet or exceed revenue goals and key performance indicators through monthly Goal Setting & Review Meetings (GS&Rs).
- Ensure direct reports deliver an exceptional customer experience at every touchpoint and follow up on procedures per company policy.
- Manage underperformers following performance management guidelines, including documentation and involving HR and the General Manager as needed.
- Collaborate with the Sales Manager and other Assistant Sales Managers to ensure completion of mandatory training, including classroom sessions and CC 360 courses.
- Work with the General Manager and Central Support team to ensure the Design Team has an appropriate mix of company and self-generated leads.
- Assist Design Consultants in creating Personal Marketing Plans and self-generated lead strategies.
- Manage day-to-day performance of all sales team members.
- Co-manage sales contests and incentive programs, collaborating with the GM on creation and tracking.
- Coordinate and facilitate monthly Sales Meetings with the sales leadership team, including guest speakers and head office personnel.
- Analyze sales data and develop strategies to address areas of opportunity.
- Monitor and enforce sales team participation in local industry meetings and functions (e.g., BIA, Chamber of Commerce, ASID).
- Ensure sales team attendance at monthly sales meetings.
- Ensure proper use of CRM tools (Dashboard & Salesforce), including data quality and status updates.
New Designer Training
- Participate in initial and follow-up interviews as needed.
- Coordinate access to websites (CC email, Paylocity, CC 360, Salesforce, Dashboard, Slack, Digideck, DocuSign, Zoom, SharePoint), materials, and samples for assigned Designers.
- Ensure all mandatory training is completed, including classroom and CC 360 courses.
Qualifications
- High school diploma and/or GED; some college preferred.
- At least 3 years of direct selling consultative sales experience in a B2C environment, preferably in high-end furniture, design showrooms, or in-home sales.
- At least 3 years of management or leadership experience.
