Job Title: Assistant Rural Carrier (ARC)

Job Responsibilities:

1. Load packages in delivery sequence in vehicle.
2. Deliver packages to customers along a prescribed route.
3. Sort mail in delivery sequence for the assigned route.
4. Receive and sign for accountable mail.
5. Load mail and packages in vehicle.
6. Deliver mail and packages to customers, collect monies and receipts for accountable mail, and pick up mail from roadside boxes.
7. Provide routine postal information to customers.
8. Return collected mail, undeliverable mail, and submit monies and receipts to the post office.
9. Prepare time records and ensure mail security at all times.

Additional Details:

• Scheduled Days: Saturday, Sunday, and observed USPS holidays. During onboarding, training may be scheduled on weekdays.
• Hours: Varies
• Driving Required: Valid state driver’s license, safe driving record, at least two years of unsupervised driving experience, and possibly a personal vehicle for delivery.
• Salary: $20.38 per hour, paid bi-weekly
• Work Environment: Indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions; may involve lifting parcels weighing up to 70 pounds.

Position is non-career, providing delivery and collection services along rural routes. Candidates should reside within easy commuting distance of the facility. An Equipment Maintenance Allowance (EMA) is provided if a personal vehicle is used. Employment is contingent upon meeting medical, background, and eligibility requirements.
