Job summary

The University of Virginia is seeking an Assistant Coach to support the Women’s Rowing program. This wage position will assist the coaching staff in developing student-athletes and the daily operation of the rowing program.

Responsibilities include operating a coaching launch, providing technical feedback, organizing practice logistics, and maintaining performance materials. A Bachelor’s degree and collegiate coaching experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Experience coaching at the collegiate or professional level preferred.
• Ability to operate a coaching launch during practices.
• Strong observation and feedback of rowing technique.
• Ability to work with full-time coaching staff and student-athletes.

Responsibilities

• Operate a coaching launch during on-the-water practices.
• Provide timely technical feedback on rowing mechanics, boat movement, rhythm, timing, and synchronization.
• Promote a positive, demanding, and supportive training environment.
• Ensure safety during practices and rowing activities.
• Assist with daily practice preparation and logistics.
• Organize and maintain practice video and performance materials.
• Assist with data entry, training records, and program documentation.
