Job summary

Kentwood Public Schools is seeking an Assistant Robotics Coordinator to work under the District Robotics Coordinator, determine future plans, assess district-wide robotics needs, develop training for coaches and students, and maintain continuity of the elementary robotics program.

Responsibilities include liaison between coaches and Kentwood, interface with elementary teachers, recruit coaches and volunteers, coordinate events and summer camps, manage program resources, and assist with budgeting

Qualifications

• Advanced understanding of Google suite applications.
• Excellent organization skills to manage a large elementary robotics program.
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in both oral and written communication.
• Excellent written and verbal skills in large and small groups.
• Ability to develop effective working relationships with families, students, staff and leadership.
• Ability to work in an economically, culturally, and racially diverse environment.

Responsibilities

• Act as liaison between elementary team coaches and Kentwood Public Schools.
• Interface with KPS elementary teachers to improve connections with the program.
• Foster environment of excitement for student growth.
• Foster environment conducive to positive team experiences.
• Provide opportunities for elementary robotics teams to connect with each other.
• Recruit coaches and volunteers for all elementary schools.
• Provide coach training on technical aspects of the program as well as team management.
• Coordinate events including competitions and other activities that celebrate student, volunteer and coach accomplishments throughout the season.
• Oversee recruitment of students to the teams.
• Manage the program's physical resources (robot kits, team supplies, chromebooks, etc.).
• Collaborate with District Robotics Coordinator to maintain elementary budgets and order supplies.
• Coordinate elementary summer camps.
