Job summary

Kentwood Public Schools is seeking an Assistant Robotics Coordinator to work under the District Robotics Coordinator, coordinating elementary robotics initiatives, training coaches and coordinating events.

This role requires strong organization, excellent communication, and the ability to recruit volunteers, manage resources, and connect with families, students, and staff across the district.

Qualifications

  • Advanced understanding of Google Workspace.
  • Excellent organizational skills for a large program.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Ability to build effective relationships with families, students and staff.
  • Comfort working in a diverse environment.
  • Experience working with elementary students preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Act as liaison between elementary coaches and Kentwood Public Schools.
  • Interface with teachers to improve program connections.
  • Foster an environment of excitement and student growth.
  • Foster a positive team experience for participants.
  • Provide opportunities for elementary robotics teams to connect.
  • Recruit coaches and volunteers for all elementary schools.
  • Provide coach training on program basics and team management.
  • Coordinate events including competitions and celebrations of achievements.
  • Oversee recruitment of students to the teams.
  • Manage the program's physical resources (robot kits, Chromebooks, etc.).
  • Collaborate to maintain elementary budgets and order supplies.
  • Coordinate elementary summer camps.
  • Regular, reliable and punctual attendance.
