Job summary

Kentwood Public Schools seeks an Assistant Robotics Coordinator to coordinate elementary robotics programs under the District Robotics Coordinator. The role focuses on training coaches, fostering student growth, and connecting teams across schools to sustain an engaging program.

Qualifications

  • Valid Michigan Driver's License is required.
  • Experience working with elementary school aged children preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide opportunities for elementary robotics teams to connect with each other.

  • Provide coach training on technical aspects of the program as well as team management.
  • Coordinate events including competitions and other activities that celebrate student, volunteer and coach accomplishments throughout the season.
  • Oversee recruitment of students to the teams.
  • Manage the program's physical resources (robot kits, team supplies, chromebooks, etc.).
  • Collaborate with District Robotics Coordinator to maintain elementary budgets and order supplies.
  • Coordinate elementary summer camps.
  • Regular, reliable and punctual attendance.

Position

Assistant Robotics Coordinator

Position Purpose

Working closely under the District Robotics Coordinator, determine future plans, assess district-wide robotics needs, develop training for coaches and students, etc. in order to maintain continuity of the elementary robotics program.

Essential Job Functions

Additional Duties

Performs other related tasks as assigned by the District Robotics Coordinator and other administrators as designated by the Superintendent.

Travel Requirements

Travel to school district buildings and competitions as required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Advanced understanding of the Google suite of applications.
  • Excellent organization skills to manage a complex and large elementary robotics program.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in both oral and written communication.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills in large and small groups.
  • Ability to develop effective working relationships with families, students, staff and building leadership.
  • Ability to work in an economically, culturally, and racially diverse environment.
Qualifications
