Penn State Health Lancaster Medical Center is seeking an Assistant RN Registered Nurse Manager for the Emergency Department. The role partners with the Nurse Manager to ensure smooth operations, staff development, and delivery of high-quality patient care in a fast-paced ED setting.

You will oversee hiring, education, and policy implementation while contributing to budget and quality improvement initiatives. A strong RN with leadership experience is essential for effective team leadership.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Nursing.
• Three years of related nursing experience.
• RN license in the state of employment or multistate license via compact.
• AHA BLS, ACLS, and PALS required prior to orientation.

Responsibilities

• Partner with the Nurse Manager to ensure department operations and staff performance.
• Lead unit management including interviewing, hiring, supervision, budgeting, policies, and quality improvement.

Responsible for partnering with the Nurse Manager to assure department operations are carried out. Additional responsibilities include management and development of the unit, including, but not limited to, interviewing, hiring, and supervision of staff, assisting with developing and monitoring of budget, policies and procedures, both new employee orientation and ongoing education of staff, and management of quality improvement programs.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S):

• Associate’s degree in Nursing
• Three (3) years of related experience
• Currently licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse by state of employment or holds a multistate RN license through the interstate Nurse Licensure Compact.
• AHA BLS required prior to orientation completion
• ACLSEA required prior to orientation completion
• PALS required prior to orientation completion
