Corewell Health is seeking an Assistant Nurse Manager for 3 Med Surg. You will lead nursing staff, ensure high-quality patient care, and support nursing leadership in implementing unit goals.

Requirements include a BSN, 2 years of clinical nursing experience, and active MI RN licensure. BLS/ACLS are required to ensure patient safety and effective teamwork.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN) required.
• Two years of clinical nursing experience required.
• Participation in leadership activities (Unit, hospital or system Shared Governance meetings, Precepting, Charge nurse role) preferred.
• MI Registered Nurse (RN) required.
• AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
• AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required.

Responsibilities

• Under the direction of nurse leadership, implement the hospital and nursing department philosophy, goals, policies, and procedures and their effect on patient care in the unit.
• Oversee daily operations of the 3 Med Surg unit and ensure quality patient care and safety.
• Collaborate with nurse manager and leadership to optimize staff performance and unit workflow.

About this unit

3 Med Surg is a 25-bed unit which manages Bariatric patients/surgeries, medical patients, and any other surgical patients.

Scope of work

Under the direction of the nurse manager or other nursing leader, the assistant nurse manager has responsibility for the effective implementation of the philosophy, goals, policies, and procedures of the hospital and the nursing department and their effect on patient care in the department.
