As an Assistant Retail Manager, you are responsible for developing banking relationships with customers and prospects and connecting customers to other business lines as needs are identified. You will coach, motivate, and develop a team of Service Associates and Universal Bankers to ensure that customer experience standards are met or exceeded, and frontline operational duties are completed in accordance with bank policies and procedures. Actively participate in proactive customer outreach initiatives and community events. Perform operational duties, including all retail banking transactions, and may fill in at various locations as requested.
Responsibilities
- Manage assigned retail staff through efforts to develop, motivate, coach, and train. Meet regularly with direct reports to ensure strong communication of individual and department expectations.
- Provide financial information and professional advice to customers by identifying their financial needs. Open retail banking accounts, safe deposit, Certificate of Deposits, and IRA accounts while cross-selling other MWO services to enhance the customer relationship.
- Coordinate with the bank’s lending areas in originating and processing consumer loan applications, along with handling loan closings and collection activities.
- Proactively work to develop new business through both walk-in activity and customer outreach.
- Work closely with direct reports through effective communication and training while promoting their interest and participation in cross-selling and referring bank products and services. Assist employees regularly through individual and team efforts to help them establish and attain their goals.
- Oversee the development, implementation, and participation of promotional activities, programs, and calls to generate new business relationships.
- Meet with customers and handle complex situations that may require additional assistance when requested or required.
- Assist Retail Branch Team Leader to participate, plan, and organize community events, both at the branch location and in the surrounding community. Represent the Bank on community groups and non-profits.
- Assume overall responsibility for the following operational duties:
- Various branch office reports
- Maintenance of records and supplies
- Management and oversight of security activities, training, and documentation for the office
- Enforcement of bank policies as they relate to security, service, and operations
- Provide support to the Service Associates and Universal Bankers in processing customer transactions and completion of daily operational duties.
- Represent the Bank through volunteerism for community organizations and participate in community events.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Associate's degree or equivalent combination of education and related work experience.
- In addition to education in the field of business or a related field, prefer 3-5 years of experience in a retail banking sales-related role.
- Banking or financial experience is preferred.
