Job Description

The Omni Hilton Head Oceanfront Resort is seeking an Assistant Restaurant Manager to oversee the training and supervision of all team members. This role ensures the delivery of exceptional, prompt, and courteous service that aligns with Omni Food and Beverage standards and company policies. The Assistant Restaurant Manager will be responsible for maintaining operational excellence and enhancing the guest experience across all outlets, including the full-service restaurant, room service, bar, refreshment centers, and Morsel’s (the resort's cyber café).

Responsibilities
  1. Supervision of all outlets during operation
  2. Assist in overall supervision of the department as outlined in manager's job description.
  3. Check staff punctuality and document call off and tardiness.
  4. Complete environmental checklist for dining room.
  5. Spot check liquor pars.
  6. Order daily supplies, utilize birchstreet.
  7. Ensure that pre-shift meeting conducted with service staff on a daily basis for all shifts.
  8. Train and ensure that service personnel follow designated service scenarios.
  9. Train, coach and counsel and effectively communicate with all Outlets staff.
  10. Assist in Outlets as necessary.
  11. Monitor and critique the quality and consistency of the food product.
  12. Bring innovation and creative ideas and be able to plan ahead.
  13. Maintain cleanliness and health code standards.
  14. Handle guest comments and complaints and ensure guest satisfaction.
  15. Complete required MOS audits.
  16. Stay on the floor during peak hours, communicate with guests and receive feedback. Monitor associate performance and assist as needed as well as guests experience.
  17. Examine food preparation and beverage presentation to ensure quality standards are met.
  18. Mini-Bar procedures.
  19. Maintain condition of Café & Black Gold Bar.
  20. Administrative responsibilities: such as payroll, scheduling, ordering, daily recaps, etc.
  21. Monitor food waste.
  22. Assist in completing inventory process and ordering necessary items.
  23. Monitor labor and payroll costs.
  24. Check bar controls, shot glass use, red lining, bottles totally empty.
  25. Must be familiar with and adhere to all liquor liability laws.
  26. Dram Shop Act - Prohibiting the sale/service of alcohol to intoxicated guests. Monitor and control productivity of all Outlets (includes Restaurant, Room Service, Bar, Mini Bar & Gift Shop). Proper scheduling according to business demands, etc.
  27. Assist manager in:
    1. Scheduling
    2. Forecast weekly
    3. Forecast monthly
    4. Completing weekly payroll
    5. Participate in interviewing new employees.
    6. Prepare maintenance requests and follow-up.
    7. Complete other assigned duties.
    8. Cost control
    9. Monitor food and liquor requisitions
Qualifications
  1. Ideal candidate must have at least 1 year of experience as an F&B Supervisor in a 4 diamond hotel, high school diploma or equivalent required.
  2. Bachelors degree preferred.
  3. Individual must be able to work in fast pace environment and multitask.
  4. Proven effective leader and ability to delegate.
  5. Able to train, develop and lead a team to success.
  6. Computer literate and detail oriented a must, basic mathematical skills and be able to create and understand financial reports.
  7. Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as organizational skills.
  8. Flexible schedule to include weekends and holidays.
