Job summary

The State of South Carolina Department of Transportation seeks an ARME Lead to organize, plan, and coordinate the activities of personnel in the Charleston Maintenance unit, ensuring efficient operation during normal and emergency conditions.

Responsibilities include managing maintenance contracts, preparing quantities, inspecting work, processing payments, and supporting EPMS reviews, job descriptions, and related personnel actions, with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Construction Science and Management with 3 years' engineering or construction management experience, or an approved equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Organize, plan, and coordinate activities of Charleston Maintenance unit personnel.
• Manage maintenance contract process; prepare quantities and inspect contract work.
• Process payments for contracts such as mowing, brush, herbicide, concrete repair.
• Assist RME with business planning, reports, budgets, and long-term programs.
• Supervise personnel actions, EPMS reviews, and position descriptions.
