Job description

Location: Lakes Region Community College, Laconia Campus

SCOPE OF WORK:

Serves as the Assistant Registrar with responsibility for assisting the Registrar with the daily functions of the Registrar's Office and for performing various administrative and technical functions. This position reports to the Registrar at Lakes Region Community College.

  • Assist the Registrar with the daily office functions of the Registrar's Office including, but not limited to, transfer credit evaluations, student records, registration, outgoing transcripts, data input in Banner, and enrollment verifications.
  • Serves as the first point of contact for students and the public seeking assistance from the Registrar's Office.
  • Assists with degree audits, GPA requirements, and other duties related to graduation.
  • Troubleshoots registration issues working to support advisors and students.
  • Using Clearinghouses, manages outgoing transcripts for current and former students.
  • Assists in managing communication plans as they relate to attendance verification, grades, and schedules, etc.
  • Updates and provides assistance to staff, faculty, and students with Banner database, Banner Document Management (BDM), Dynamic Forms and Degree Works.
  • Maintains thorough knowledge of the LRCC catalog/CCSNH System policies including, but not limited to academic policies, admissions, and tuition and fees.
  • Assists the Registrar with building academic years in Banner; builds courses and assists with changes to the course schedule, as well as updating curriculum changes in DegreeWorks.
  • Works with Early College Coordinator to build early college at the high school classes and troubleshoots registration issues for early college students.
  • Works with the Registrar to ensure continuity of the Registrar's Office operations in the absence of the Registrar.
  • Along with the Registrar, serves as a Veterans Certifying Official and assists with the certification of veterans.
  • Ensures a high level of confidentiality and security of all information related directly to student records is maintained by the department.
  • Implements college policies and procedures and serves on college committees, as assigned.
  • Complies with all system, college, state and federal rules and regulations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:

Associate's degree from a recognized college or university. Each additional year of approved formal education may be substituted for one year of required work experience.

Experience:

Four years' experience in administrative or technical support within an office environment, with customer service and supervisory experience Each additional year of approved work experience may be substituted for one year of required formal education.

WORK TRAITS:

Knowledge of the registration functions within higher education. Knowledge of office record keeping and reporting. Ability to gather, assemble, correlate and analyze facts and identify existing or potential problems. Ability to contribute to the development of sound operational procedures. Ability to make sound judgment in appraising situations and making routine decisions. Ability to follow specific instructions in gathering facts, data or resources in organizing required information. Ability to make decisions based upon fact-finding interviews within the parameters of the rules and policies of the college. Ability to meet with students and explain programs sponsored by the department or college. Ability to present ideas clearly and effectively. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Must be willing to maintain an appearance appropriate to assigned duties and responsibilities as determined by the College's appointing authority.
