Job summary

Habitat for Humanity Greater San Francisco is seeking an Assistant Project Manager in Real Estate Development to support the real estate team across all phases of development. You will assist with budgeting, contracts, documentation, and coordination among internal teams, consultants, and external partners.

The role emphasizes strong communication, organizational skills, and discretion. Travel within the tri-county area is expected, with a focus on delivering quality, on-time project outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or 2–3 years of relevant working experience in a project management role or with an affordable housing developer.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the desire to clearly communicate with a wide range of stakeholders, partners, and internal staff.
  • Effective prioritization and organizational skills; strong attention to detail.
  • Able to work independently while also contributing to a team environment.
  • Ability to always maintain discretion and confidentiality.
  • Ability to apply basic problem-solving principles to real estate challenges.
  • Excellent organizational and prioritization skills; ability to manage an unpredictable workflow and shift deliverables.
  • Computer knowledge and efficiency, including Microsoft Office Suite, Excel and Project.

Responsibilities

  • Support a Project Manager and the Director of Real Estate with a variety of project management and administrative duties.
  • Manage invoicing, contracting, and change orders process with established vendors and partners.
  • Provide general project administration to keep projects organized, on budget, and on schedule.
  • Track and monitor budgets and schedules to ensure quality.
  • Assist with communication among project team members, consultants, agency contacts, and other departments.
  • Support work with the larger project team including public funding applications and community engagement.
  • Collaborate on creation and implementation of documents for Homeowner’s Associations and required filings.
  • Prepare project reports for leadership, board, subcommittees, funders, and stakeholders.
  • Monitor contracts, purchase orders, and change orders; support funding packages.
  • Assist with deliverables during construction, including subsidy requirements and sustainability programs.
  • Represent the Real Estate team at city/county meetings and project site visits as needed.
  • Support zoning, permitting, and design processes with consultant coordination.
  • Travel within the tri-county service area as needed.
