Job summary

The St. Joe Company's Camp Creek Resort in Inlet Beach, FL is seeking an Assistant Racquets Teaching Professional. You will provide private and group tennis lessons for all ages, assist with clinics, leagues, camps and events, and help run daily racquets programs with a focus on safety, fun and member engagement.

USPTA or PTR certification and competitive playing experience are required. The role involves promoting programs, delivering excellent service, and supporting the Head Racquets

Qualifications

• USPTA or PTR Certified Professional (or international equivalent) required.
• Competitive playing experience required.
• Experience teaching in a private club, resort or member-focused environment preferred.
• Experience assisting with leagues, tournaments, socials, and special events preferred.
• Extensive experience as a tennis professional with a track record coaching players of all levels.

Responsibilities

• Provide private and group lessons for players of all ages and skill levels.

The Assistant Racquets Teaching Professional at Camp Creek Resort supports the racquets department by delivering high-quality instruction, fostering member engagement, and assisting in the daily operations of the racquet’s sports program. This role works closely with the Head Racquets Professional to execute clinics, lessons, leagues, and events while maintaining a positive, service-oriented environment that aligns with the club’s standards and culture.

Primary Responsibilities & Essential Functions

• Provide private and group lessons for players of all ages and skill levels
• Assist in the execution of adult and junior clinics, leagues, camps and social events
• Support player development initiatives and pathway programs
• Ensure safe, fun, and instructionally sound lesson environments
• Encourage participation and retention through excellent communication and energy
• Assist with on-court member needs, including match play organization, and basic racquets services
• Support the Head Racquets Professional with daily program execution
• Help promote programs and events through member communication and personal outreach
• Continue personal growth as a teaching professional through education and certification
• Stay current on teaching methodologies, drills, and best practices
• Accept coaching and feedback from the Head of Racquets Professional as well as Director
• Engage with members to understand their needs and preferences, providing personalized attention and exceptional customer service
• Foster an inclusive, welcoming, and positive club culture on and off the court
• Adhere to department and club policies, lesson standards, scheduling procedures, and safety standards
• All other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Education and Experience

• USPTA or PTR Certified Professional (or international equivalent)
• Competitive playing experience
• Experience teaching in a private club, resort or member focused environment
• Experience assisting with leagues, tournaments, socials, and special events
• Extensive experience as a tennis professional, including a proven track record in coaching players of all levels
• Interest in long-term personal growth within a racquets department

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

• Basic knowledge of racquet stringing, grips and equipment fitting
• Strong knowledge of tennis rules, techniques, and equipment
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills
• Ability to develop and implement tennis programs
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to always maintain a professional and enthusiastic demeanor for member service
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, evenings, holidays, and events
• First Aid and CPR certification preferred

Physical Demands

• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Physical stamina and agility to demonstrate tennis techniques and play at a high level
• Prolonged periods of standing, physical activity, stooping, and kneeling
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50lbs
• Ability to demonstrate and assist with tennis instruction and drills
• Visual requirements include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
• Auditory requirements include effective hearing and verbal communication
