Job Summary
- Establish, maintain, and continuously improve customer quality processes and ensure compliance with customer-specific requirements and the Quality Management System (QMS).
- Lead the timely and effective resolution of customer complaints, warranty claims, and quality issues through structured problem-solving and cross-functional collaboration.
- Monitor customer scorecards, PPM, complaints, warranty performance, external quality losses, and other customer-related KPIs; identify risks and drive improvement actions.
- Lead and support cross-functional quality improvement initiatives, verify corrective action effectiveness, and promote prevention-based quality management.
- Maintain effective communication with customers, understand Voice of Customer (VOC), and represent FGA's quality interests while maintaining a constructive customer relationship.
- Lead, develop, and manage the customer quality team to ensure appropriate capability, accountability, workload distribution, and performance.
Job Functions and Duties
Customer Quality Management
- Establish and maintain customer quality processes, procedures, and related documentation.
- Ensure compliance with customer-specific requirements (CSRs), IATF 16949, and the Quality Management System (QMS).
- Monitor changes in customer requirements and coordinate internal implementation.
- Provide training and guidance on customer quality requirements
Customer Complaint & Warranty Management
- Manage customer complaints, warranty claims, and field quality issues.
- Lead cross-functional problem solving, including containment, root cause analysis, corrective action, and effectiveness verification.
- Ensure timely and effective customer responses and 8D closure.
- Support warranty analysis, responsibility determination, recovery, and claim dispute activities.
- Identify recurring issues and drive systemic corrective actions.
Customer Quality Performance Management
- Monitor and analyze customer scorecards, PPM, complaints, warranty performance, and external quality losses.
- Identify performance risks and lead improvement action plans.
- Report customer quality performance and key risks to management and recommend actions.
- Ensure accuracy and timeliness of customer quality data and reports.
Customer Relationship Management
- Serve as a key quality interface with customers.
- Maintain effective communication and understand Voice of Customer (VOC).
- Support customer visits, audits, quality reviews, and escalation activities.
Quality Improvement & Audit
- Support customer, internal, and certification audits and follow up on findings.
- Drive cross-functional quality improvement and verify effectiveness of corrective actions.
- Promote the application of APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plan, SPC, MSA, 8D, and other quality tools.
Team Management
- Lead and manage the customer quality team, including work assignment, prioritization, and performance management.
- Develop team capability through training, coaching, and personnel development plans.
- Promote accountability, teamwork, and a customer-focused quality culture.
Reporting
- Prepare and submit daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual quality reports as required.
- Prepare customer quality performance reviews and management presentations.
- Escalate significant quality risks and unresolved customer issues in a timely manner.
Other Responsibilities
- Support the Quality Manager in achieving departmental objectives and quality goals.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Job Requirements
Education
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering, Quality Management, Manufacturing, or a related field.
- Lean Six Sigma or quality-related certification/training preferred.
Experience
- 5+ years of experience in automotive quality, customer quality, or related fields.
- 2+ years of experience in quality leadership, supervision, or project leadership.
- Experience with customer quality, warranty, and IATF 16949 preferred.
Language
- Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Mandarin proficiency preferred.
Physical Condition
- Ability to work in both office and manufacturing environments.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
- Willingness to travel to customers and other business facilities as required.
Other Requirements
- Proficient in using Microsoft Office software Word, Excel, Power Point;
- Proficient in IATF Core (Five) Tools and quality statistics knowledge;
- Proficient in using 8D method to solve problems;
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities utilized on the job Professional Knowledge, Skills Professional Knowledge:
- Strong knowledge of automotive glass manufacturing, quality standards, and inspection/test methods.
- Strong understanding of IATF 16949, customer‑specific requirements, and quality management principles.
- Proficient in 8D, structured problem solving, quality tools, and data analysis.
- Strong cross‑functional leadership, communication, and customer relationship management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
- Ability to prioritize risks, respond with urgency, make sound decisions, and drive results while protecting company interests.
