Job summary

Fuyao Glass America Inc. seeks a Quality Control Supervisor in Moraine, OH to lead inspection programs and drive process quality across production lines.

II. Job Summary
  • 1. Process and product inspection management;
  • 2. Direct and conduct Process and Product audit;
  • 3. Organize summarize and analyze the quality data to monitor the process and improve the quality;
  • 4. Lead, organize and implement analyzing, handling, folloing up, and improving of internal quality issues;
  • 5. Supervise the Outgoing Quality Control inspectors;
  • 6. Conduct risk analysis and decision making.
  • 7. Assist in handling customer complaints
  • 8. Assist second and third party audits
III. Job Functions and Duties
NO. Representative Duties
1 Process inspection management
  • 1.1 Prepare the inspection standard and test specification for product production process and after approval, organize its implementation;
  • 1.2 Establish and maintain production reserved sample(s), defect sample(s) and limit sample(s);
  • 1.3 Supervise relevant personnel to inspect quality of semi-finished and finished product and process quality according to inspection standard and detection specification;
  • 1.4 Prepare MSA plan and organize implementation and propose improvement actions for unacceptable MSA;
  • 1.5 Train operator(s) and online inspector(s) to evaluate and handle with non-conforming products, establish and maintain product repair/rework specifications;
  • 1.6 Collect data and summarize reports for daily, weekly and monthly reviews within the quality department.
2 Process and Product audit management
  • 2.1 Prepare product audit and process audit specification and, after approval, organize its implementation;
  • 2.2 Prepare product audit and process audit plan, implement, track and feed back the implementation and the removal of nonconforming items;
  • 2.3 Participate in product inspections and reviews of samples during new product development, quality gate review before mass production and the process review;
  • 2.4 Participate in the process audit, internal audit and external audit organized by the company;
  • 2.5 Organize regular review of company fixture and mold test tools and recognize and manage process change points.
3 Quality problem handling and improvement
  • 3.1 Timely responses, properly handle quality problems that occurr during production and report material quality abnormality.
  • 3.2 Responsible for handling a customer complaint, return of goods. SOP+3 months and track the effectiveness of corrective and preventive actions working with the customer quality engineer;
  • 3.3 Establish and implement process statistics and analysis, find deficiency in a timely manner or risk point relating to process capability and continuously improve the process and product quality;
  • 3.4 Regularly make statistics and analysis of process quality, timely prepare and report the analysis report.
4 Other duties relating to Quality Assurance
  • 4.1 Responsible for direct supervison of the Quality Control Supervisor within the workshop.
  • 4.2 Responsible for training and verifying operator and online inspector relating to quality inspection skills;
  • 4.3 Responsible for compiling, archiving and transfering materials relating to new product development process.
5 Reports to prepare and submit

Daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly/annual quality reports, process and product audit report

Job Requirements Language Languages spoken commonly in the workplace are English. - Ability to read, understand and comprehend documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to speak effectively and interact with other team members, engineers, leadership and customers.

Experience 1 to 3 years manufacturing experience and /or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred. Experienced in production line and QC of the company over one year;

Education Associate's degree or above (The mechanical and electrical Engineering major is preferred).

Physical Condition The employee is regularly required to stand for long periods. Duties include turning at the waist, reaching, bending, squatting and lifting up to 50 pounds. Ability to pass static strength requirements (grip)

Visual acuity including, but not limited to:
a. NEAR ACUITY - Clarity of vision at 20 inches or less. Use this factor when special and minute accuracy is demanded.
b. FAR ACUITY - Clarity of vision at 20 feet or more. Use this factor when visual efficiency in terms of far acuity is required in day and night/dark conditions.
c. DEPTH PERCEPTION - Three-dimensional vision. Ability to judge distances and spatial relationships so as to see objects where and as they actually are.
d. COLOR VISION - Ability to identify and distinguish colors.
e. FIELD OF VISION - Observing an area that can be seen up and down or to right or left while eyes are fixed on a given point.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Safety requirements for this position are safety glasses, hearing protection and steel-toed work boots.

Other Requirements MATHEMATICAL SKILLS -
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
REASONING ABILITY - Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables.
COMPUTER SKILLS - Knowledge of and familiarity manufacturing software.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities utilized on the job Professional Knowledge, Skills Knowledge:
1. Familiar with manufacturing principle and technological process of glass;
2. Familiar with systematical knowledge of IATF 16949 quality management system;
3. Familiar with supplier quality management.
4. Familiar with requirements of quality management system.

Basic skills:
1. Proficient in using Office software such as Word, Excel, Power Point;
2. Proficient in document writing; 3. Skilled in reporting, analyzing and handling problems;

Skill:
1. Capable of on-the-spot process audit;
2. Capable of analyzing with QC7 and corresponding charts;
3. Capable of SPC analysis and improvement
4. Analyze and handle problems with statistics and analysis tools;
5. Capable of reporting;
6. Skilled in process audit;
7. MSA (measurement system analysis). 8. Familiar with all experimental items and process on the production site; 9. Familiar with three operation instructions and corresponding judging standards on the spot.

Additional skills:
1. Timely response to find quality hazard(s) and respond in time to prevent quality problem escalation;
2. Key emphasis in work is to maintain process stability and error correction;
3. Observe field safety management requirements

Training Required Trained in IATF16949, quality management, process audit skill, final product audit skill, SPC, QC7, TPM, 5S, MSA, computer application, etc.

V. Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to extreme heat. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Safety requirements for this position are safety glasses and steel-toed work boots.
