Job summary

Fuyao Glass America Inc. seeks an Assistant Quality Manager to lead customer quality processes in a manufacturing setting. You will drive resolution of complaints, warranty claims, and quality issues through structured problem solving and cross-functional collaboration.

You will monitor KPIs, coach the team, and ensure effective communication with customers while upholding QMS and CSRs. Travel to customer sites may be required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering, Quality Management, Manufacturing, or a related field.
  • Lean Six Sigma or quality-related certification/training preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in automotive quality, customer quality, or related fields.
  • 2+ years of experience in quality leadership, supervision, or project leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Establish, maintain, and improve customer quality processes and ensure compliance with CSRs and QMS.
  • Lead cross-functional problem solving for warranty claims, field quality issues, and 8D closures.
  • Monitor customer quality performance, KPIs, and drive improvement actions.
  • Lead and manage the customer quality team, develop capability, and ensure accountability.
  • Support audits, APQP/PPAP, and quality tool usage across functions.

Job Summary
  1. Establish, maintain, and continuously improve customer quality processes and ensure compliance with customer-specific requirements and the Quality Management System (QMS).
  2. Lead the timely and effective resolution of customer complaints, warranty claims, and quality issues through structured problem-solving and cross-functional collaboration.
  3. Monitor customer scorecards, PPM, complaints, warranty performance, external quality losses, and other customer-related KPIs; identify risks and drive improvement actions.
  4. Lead and support cross-functional quality improvement initiatives, verify corrective action effectiveness, and promote prevention-based quality management.
  5. Maintain effective communication with customers, understand Voice of Customer (VOC), and represent FGA's quality interests while maintaining a constructive customer relationship.
  6. Lead, develop, and manage the customer quality team to ensure appropriate capability, accountability, workload distribution, and performance.
Job Functions and Duties
  1. Customer Quality Management
    1. 1.1 Establish and maintain customer quality processes, procedures, and related documentation.
    2. 1.2 Ensure compliance with customer-specific requirements (CSRs), IATF 16949, and the Quality Management System (QMS).
    3. 1.3 Monitor changes in customer requirements and coordinate internal implementation.
    4. 1.4 Provide training and guidance on customer quality requirements
  2. Customer Complaint & Warranty Management
    1. 2.1 Manage customer complaints, warranty claims, and field quality issues.
    2. 2.2 Lead cross-functional problem solving, including containment, root cause analysis, corrective action, and effectiveness verification.
    3. 2.3 Ensure timely and effective customer responses and 8D closure.
    4. 2.4 Support warranty analysis, responsibility determination, recovery, and claim dispute activities.
    5. 2.5 Identify recurring issues and drive systemic corrective actions.
  3. Customer Quality Performance Management
    1. 3.1 Monitor and analyze customer scorecards, PPM, complaints, warranty performance, and external quality losses.
    2. 3.2 Identify performance risks and lead improvement action plans.
    3. 3.3 Report customer quality performance and key risks to management and recommend actions.
    4. 3.4 Ensure accuracy and timeliness of customer quality data and reports.
  4. Customer Relationship Management
    1. 4.1 Serve as a key quality interface with customers.
    2. 4.2 Maintain effective communication and understand Voice of Customer (VOC).
    3. 4.3 Support customer visits, audits, quality reviews, and escalation activities.
    4. 4.4 Represent FGA's quality position based on facts, data, customer requirements, and company interests.
  5. Quality Improvement & Audit
    1. 5.1 Support customer, internal, and certification audits and follow up on findings.
    2. 5.2 Drive cross-functional quality improvement and verify effectiveness of corrective actions.
    3. 5.3 Promote the application of APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plan, SPC, MSA, 8D, and other quality tools.
  6. Team Management
    1. 6.1 Lead and manage the customer quality team, including work assignment, prioritization, and performance management.
    2. 6.2 Develop team capability through training, coaching, and personnel development plans.
    3. 6.3 Promote accountability, teamwork, and a customer-focused quality culture.
  7. Reporting
    1. 7.1 Prepare and submit daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual quality reports as required.
    2. 7.2 Prepare customer quality performance reviews and management presentations.
    3. 7.3 Escalate significant quality risks and unresolved customer issues in a timely manner.
  8. Other Responsibilities
    1. 8.1 Support the Quality Manager in achieving departmental objectives and quality goals.
    2. 8.2 Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Qualification
Job Requirements
  1. Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering, Quality Management, Manufacturing, or a related field.

Experience
  1. 5+ years of experience in automotive quality, customer quality, or related fields.
  2. 2+ years of experience in quality leadership, supervision, or project leadership.
  3. Experience with customer quality, warranty, and IATF 16949 preferred.
Language
  1. Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal.
  2. Mandarin proficiency preferred.
Physical Condition
  1. Ability to work in both office and manufacturing environments.
  2. Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
  3. Willingness to travel to customers and other business facilities as required.

  1. Proficient in using Microsoft Office software Word, Excel, Power Point;
