Job summary

Fuyao Glass America Inc. in Moraine, OH is seeking a Product Development Engineer responsible for new product and tooling development. You will execute tooling/fixtures designs, optimize, and troubleshoot to ensure production stability and efficiency.

Responsibilities include developing new products, confirming customer requirements, designing, verifying, and debugging fixtures, and monitoring sample builds. Familiarity with TS16949 and APQP documents is expected; travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Develop new products and identify risks for new projects.
• Confirm product standard requirements based on customer requests.
• Design, verify, and debug new products and fixtures within project targets and budget.
• Monitor and assist new product sample builds with tooling and fixtures.
• Improve fixtures by optimizing designs and technical specs.
• Resolve technical problems during development and production.
• Comply with quality systems and standards; support continuous improvement.

Job Title: Product Development Engineer

Job Summary:

Responsible for new product and tooling development. Execute tooling/fixtures designs, optimization, and preventative troubleshooting in coordinate with product processes; ensure production's stability and efficiency.

Job Functions:

• Responsible for development of new products; Identify product development risk for new project.
• Responsible for confirmation of product standard requirements based on customer requests.
• Responsible for design, verification, and debugging of new product and fixtures based on project target, timeline, and budget; Ensure newly-developed tooling associated with specific product to be effective;
• Responsible to monitor and aid the new product sample build with related tooling and fixtures.
• Responsible for improving current fixture by optimizing designs, mechanisms or technical specification; Avoid such similar issues encountered in future development projects based on gathered experiences.
• Responsible for solving technical problems during project development and production.
• Familiar with relevant quality system, TS16949 and five tools.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualification

• Ability to read and understand English documents as needed. Ability to speak effectively and interact with other team members, engineers, leadership and customers. Ability to speak, read and/or write Mandarin is a plus.
• 1 or more years manufacturing experience and /or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
• Bachelor's degree or above, major in mechanical engineering or technology.
• Healthy. Able to travel. Able to work in a manufacturing environment.
• Experienced with manufacturing processes. Knowledge of automotive glass production a plus.
• Proficient in office software such as WORD, EXCEL, Power Point, & Outlook
• Proficient in three-dimensional software UG, CATIA, and AutoCAD.
• Experience in APQP documents such as [failure mode (FMEA), BOM, process flow diagram, DVP&R, etc.]
• Experience in project development is preferred.
• 3 to 6 months at start may be spent in production environment for training purposes.
• Bright, clean and well-ventilated office building. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to extreme heat. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Safety requirements for this position are safety glasses and steel-toed work boots.
